NEW Bar Opens in Sale to Rave Reviews!

What’s Your Story?  This is what stylish new bar Dutch Courage is asking in Sale.

At the top of School Road in the heart of Sale town centre, a trendy new bar has recently opened it’s doors to the public. Dutch Courage opened just over a week ago, and has had brilliant feedback and reviews across social media and local residents since.

Promoting Trafford were excited to be invited to the soft launch event, and our first thoughts were WOW!  The logo and frontage are great, and the inside is so stylish that it wouldn’t look out of place in Manchester City Centre!  With an industrial look, locally made wooden tables and handmade stools and seats, to bespoke accessories, lighting that hits the spot and a Manchester-based DJ playing some fab music the atmosphere was one of relaxed excitement!

After we’d signed in (for track and trace purposes) we were greeted with a welcome glass of fizz, and then took a look at their cocktail menu.  Although you can have one of the ‘classic’ cocktails, they’ve created a menu that includes one specially created for them – Sale Daisy (white rum, peach puree, peach bitters and sparkling wine).

The launch night was for suppliers and supporters to come and see the bar for the first time, and to be introduced to their handpicked staff – some of which have come from the best restaurants and bars across Manchester and Cheshire (and even abroad!).  Sale-based interior designer  Amy Newton Interiors has worked wonders to transform this tired, betting shop into a fantastic destination –  not only for Sale residents but for anyone looking for something a little different and unique.

Since the launch night it has been great to see other local Sale businesses welcoming owners Rachel and Daniel Cookson, as well as GM Aidan and his team into Sale. No children or dogs are permitted in the bar, and as Rachel said – “We wanted this to be a place for parents and adults to come and relax, it’s what we want to do when we go out without our young family.”

Looking through some of the Facebook reviews and comments, it’s great to see such positivity and great feedback for all the hard work that has gone into Dutch Courage –

“Amazing place, amazing cocktails, amazing staff. Basically, amazing!”

“Friendly staff, gorgeous cocktails, and amazing interior!”

“Great selection of cocktails and the bar staff were happy to make a cocktail up for my friend based on what she likes.”

Dutch Courage is open from 8:00am-10:00pm, and during the day you’ll be able to enjoy coffee and pastries – the perfect spot for a socially-distanced meeting (within any current guidelines) or to work from (rather than being at home).

We can’t wait to go back (again and again!). Dutch Courage has been greeted with open arms by Sale businesses and residents, and adds to the fantastic growing night time destinations you’ll find across the town – from Mano a Bocca at the end of last year, to Num6er gin-based bar, Mustard, The Bridge Pub & Dining, Cork Of The North wine bar and shop, Cowtown Grill, Chez Nous, The Steamhouse, Groceries and Beer – to name just a few!

Congratulations Dutch Courage, your story has started brilliantly – and we can’t wait to see how it develops!
